Coat Upcycled from a Lisa Frank Sleeping Bag, 2XL

I could go on and on about all the Lisa Frank school supplies I either owned or begged my parents to buy, the LF stationery I still own to this day because it was far too precious to use even as a small child or the TikTok rabbit hole I went down to fully understand the demise of this iconic and colorful brand.

But instead, I'll go on and on about the day I went to the thrift store and spotted this sleeping bag, but didn't check the brand until I got to the checkout counter and had to play it cool. I'll tell you about how it sat in my stash for a long time because I was so scared to cut it up and how I chose rainbow fabric for the pocket lining because IT JUST FELT ON BRAND. And don't get me started on the bedspread I left behind which was waiting for me weeks later because I needed it to complete this project.

What had to have been one kid's prized possession at every neighborhood sleepover probably sat in their parents' basement until the full circle moment where it yet again becomes a prized possession.

Bust 26.5"
Waist 25.5"
Shoulder to hem 20.5"
Sleeve 25.5"
 
Wash on delicate and lay flat to dry to help lengthen the life of this garment.
